Welcome to Loreto, Baja California Sur!

Loreto is located 750 miles south of San Diego on the Lower California peninsula in Mexico. The peninsula is comprised of the 2 most northwestern states of Mexico- Baja California Norte and Baja California Sur. Though Loreto is a more remote destination than other touristy areas in "Baja", we do have the service of an international airport. Driving is a great option for folks who have some time before and after the tours. Please see the additional travel information links below for more information about flying, driving and busing into Loreto and Mexico.

There is currently one airline with flights to Loreto (LTO) from Los Angeles (LAX). Alaska Air /Horizon has arrivals and departures several times each week. Periodically, according to seasonal traffic, they add more flights, allowing for travel to Loreto 5 or more days each week. As of Sept. 2011the flight days are: Thurs. Fri. Sun. and Tues. Flights for Oct. 2011 until Nov. 4th, depart Los Angeles at 10:05 a.m, and from Nov. 5th departure is 1:30 p.m.

Flying to other major hubs (Dallas,Houston,Denver, Phoenix, or Las Vegas) for flights into mainland Mexico (Hermosillo, Guadalajara) and then to Loreto; or from US hubs or Tijuana, direct to La Paz (LAP) or Los Cabos (San Jose del Cabo - SJD) - may be a great option for folks coming from the eastern and southwestern US.

It's easier than you think ! Contact us for more info. Good alternatives for travel to Loreto - Fly to La Paz (LAP), Baja California Sur, Mexico and drive or bus 5 hours north, or fly up on Aereo Calafia. Fly to Los Cabos (SJD) and drive or bus up (8 hours driving time); or, fly to Loreto from Hermosillo or Cabo San Lucas on Aereo Calafia. And, if you have the time - drive from San Diego south, about 750 miles, and enjoy the many desert ecosystems along the way.

For the moment, Loreto is a little harder to get to than other popular tourist destinations, but It's Worth It !
